"One flood too many": a kitty launched to save a castle devastated by floods in Brittany

"We need you". Built four centuries ago, the Breton castle of Blossac has not escaped the floods of recent days . Located about twenty minutes from Rennes, in the town of Goven, in Ille-et-Vilaine, the estate found itself submerged under water , with up to 80cm of water on the ground floor of the castle.
In the immense building, the damage is expected to be considerable and will only be able to be estimated once the muddy water has been removed. "The parquet flooring is completely lifted by the water. That is irreparable damage," laments Christophe de la Rousserie, owner of the Château de Blossac, which had just been renovated, on BFMTV.
Often hit by bad weather, the lord of the castle regrets "one flood too many". Damage for which Christophe de la Rousserie is not insured. To find the money needed for the work that is coming and to save his castle, he has launched an online kitty. Objective: 100,000 euros.
"To prepare for the future and preserve this place steeped in history, we need you!", we can read in the description of the kitty.

However, Blossac Castle, located on an island, is used to flooding: this is the 21st time in 120 years that the Vilaine and the Meu have come to lick its walls. The building, in the same family since its construction by Louis de La Bourdonnaye, is listed as a historic monument.
